Back My Bracket is a one-of-a-kind March Madness bracket builder, brought to life by our team at Codasite. I was in charge of shaping the brand, designing the user experience from the ground up, and turning big ideas into polished prototypes.
Building the Brand
The goal? Create a bold, flexible brand identity that stands out in a sea of brackets. After experimenting with different ideas, I landed on a custom badge that cleverly blends a tournament bracket layout with the letter "B"—a fun visual that’s both slick and symbolic. It comes in multiple versions (dark, light, outline) so it looks great in every setting.
Building the System
To bring the app’s personality to life, I created a full design system—complete with custom gradients and a color palette that pops. Everything was built for consistency, accessibility, and visual flair.

The User Interface
Designing the interface for Back My Bracket was like running our own creative tournament. We teamed up with the client and some new developers to build an interactive Bracket Builder that can handle up to 64 teams, with features like wildcards, flexible layouts, and display options. It was a lot of trial, error, and creative problem-solving—but also a lot of fun.
And the bracket builder was just the beginning. We also designed the full user journey: from dashboards to merch stores, social sharing, and leaderboards.
