W Strategies is a creative technology firm based in Chicago. With a wide range of clients from governments to the small bookstore next door, W Strategies provided me with a true startup experience where I observed the swift progression of a new company's growth.
In October 2020 I worked with W Strategies to assist with the creative end for a few client projects. The following February I began a full-time position.
My work as Design Director
Within my first few months at the company, this position had quickly become a true passion for me. During this time, I found pride in working with small businesses and startups to help them establish brands. Alongside client work, every day I worked to take the company to the next step.
Founding of the company brand identity
From a logo redesign concept to a full set of brand guidelines, the rebrand for W Strategies was the largest branding project I had undertaken at the time. Rather than just a large project, I've always considered this project an ongoing development. Gradually improving my skills while in turn building the design language alongside the advancement of the company's mission resulted in the founding of the W Strategies brand identity.
Building a new home site
As most of my work experience prior to this position was branding and graphics, it was at W Strategies that I found my affinity for designing web pages. Taking my previous experience using CMS software, I set focus on creating an efficient workflow and set of standards for the company's web design offerings, and in turn, restructuring and designing a new home-base website.
Designing Atlas
The Atlas program is a service bundle for up-and-coming businesses and organizations. It is the primary service offering of W Strategies with graphic design services, enterprise web hosting, IT troubleshooting, and much more.
The Atlas brand identity was a full scale project of its own and deserves its own case study.
