Tools Used
Refreshing my porfolio was overdue.
Using Framer and Framer CMS to build out this new site, I utilized the component system to build a filter menu to organize the portfolio into categories. On mobile, the menu collapses into a simple toggle button on the top right. The CMS post can be can be split with subsections and accessible by the user from the navigation at the top.
Signature Features
Building a robust user experience and user flow is key to a successful portfolio. These features solve common UX issues with portfolios that I aimed to avoid for my own portfolio.
Tool Labels: Each portfolio entry has the tool(s) used listed alongside the heading. This gives the reader a better understanding of professional expertise that goes into each project
Supervisor Label: Every post is labeled by employer or listed as a personal project.
Featured Post Homepage: The homepage (Featured) contains a list of CMS items categorized as "Featured". Items can be added or removed. This gives me the ability to show off my most relevant work, front and center.
A New Brand
My new logo needed to be simple and signature. I used grids of squares and the corner radius tool to create negative space shaping the letter D and a star, referencing Elton John, "Daniel, you're a star". Building the website, I aimed to translate the sharp styling of the logo over to the UI and utilize the two primary colors throughout.
